Places To Stay/Hotels

If you need a place to spend one or more nights during your child's comprehensive appointment, there are several options. Please contact Wendy Murphy regarding reservations at Family House or information about obtaining the special hospital at local hotels. Lodging arrangements need to be made well in advance of the appointment to ensure availability.

Family House

This low-cost "home away from home" has 16 bedrooms available to qualifying families who live 70 miles or more from the hospital. All residents share a common living room, play room, kitchen, and laundry room. These rooms are filled on a first-come basis. If the Family House has more requests than rooms, priority is given to families with critically ill children or those furthest from home. Families must be referred by Children’s Hospital’s Medical Social Services department.

Hotels

Below is a listing of hotels that may have a special rate for Children’s Hospital families. “UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital Oakland has a corporate rate.” Please contact our Social Worker for information on how to obtain this rate.
